This course uses a literary genre (a novel or drama) to develop students' understanding and appreciation of literary texts which engage the reader's emotional as well as cognitive faculties while appreciating and using the English Language expressed in the literary texts. This course aims to develop students' awareness of multilevel meaning in text as well as develop their imagination and creativity while understanding the human experience.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
discuss and write ideas clearly and coherently in an academic context based on literary issues in society develop ideas clearly, critically and systematically on a novel and drama as literary genres discuss literary elements and language in novel and drama develop and display positive values and attitudes based on literary texts such as novel and drama
