This is what he feels when the villagers praised and looked up to him whenever he played his part as a translator that Rosli felt his life and his work are plain, dull and meaningless. He finally became disenchanted between his real life and fantasy life portrayed through the movies and ended up resenting everything about the actors and the lives they lead. Eventually, he became a bitter person and seemed to be lost; harbouring between what is real and what is not that he tore the movie screen at the end of the movie and ran into the darkness.
